4% Salary Increment: Public Sector Workers to demonstrate August 18
Public Sector Workers are set to demonstrate on August 18, 2021 to show their displeasure over the government’s 4% salary increment for the sector workers for 2021.
The Public Sector Workers in a notification to the Ghana Police Service Headquarters and signed by Norbert E.K Gborgbortsi, Divine K. Buachi and Vincent Adukor, on an earlier letter to the police on same purpose which was accepted on July 21, 2021 indicated, that the intended demonstration shall take place on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Accra at exactly 8:00AM to 1:00 PM.

According to the angry public sector workers, the converging point of their demonstration will be the Obra Spot, through Kwame Nkrumah Avenue, through Adabraka, through Farisco Traffic Light to Cedi House, Turn left to AU. Roundabout ,straight to parliament house.
Reason for Demo
According to the aggrieved public sector workers, the reason for embarking on the demonstration is to communicate back to government that the 4% increment given to them as workers was nothing but an insult to them as Ghanaian Workers.
The expected number of demonstrators, according to the letter is above 1000 from across the country.
Organized Labour during its final negotiation with government, has accepted government’s 4% and 7% base pay rise with conditions to government.
