Western Region Ambulance Service welcomes probe into what led to death of mother

The Western Regional Ambulance Service has invited a test into conditions that prompted the demise of another mother at Fijai.

Talking in a meeting on Newsnight on Joy FM, the Coordinator of the Service, Dr Tawiah Siameh, said the outfit is prepared to help with examinations concerning the passing of 31-year-old Augustina Awortwe.

“We are exceptionally prepared to meet the Parliament’s Health Committee in examinations,” he guaranteed.

Specialists at the Holy Child Catholic Hospital alluded Augustina to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after difficulties following a cesarean segment.

On their way, the excursion was redirected to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital when it was understood her condition was quick breaking down.

She passed on appearance.

The spouse of the perished, John Yeboah, noticed that her excursion didn’t appear in light of the fact that the rescue vehicle driver deferred shipping her.

He focused on that their powerlessness to give a measure of ¢600 to take care of the expense of fuel for the rescue vehicle prompted the lamentable occurrence.

Be that as it may, the Western Region Coordinator of the National Ambulance Service, Dr Tawiah Siameh, has dismissed this case, saying the Service was not careless.

He told JoyNews in a meeting that they acted ideal.

“He [the husband] said he needed more cash and that he had just ¢50. That was utilized to purchase the fuel. On our way, we were called again to pick the one-day-old child to be breastfed; along these lines, we got back to the emergency clinic. That created some setback.”

In the interim, the Minority individuals on the Committee, drove by Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, need the rescue vehicle work force prohibited, forthcoming examinations and redresses of such abnormalities.

“Issues about ambulances mentioning cash from patients prior to setting out on an excursion is turning out to be extremely normal in our framework. Thus, for me as a Member of Parliament and a Ranking Member, we plan to carry this issue to the front burner, particularly in Parliament, to examine and ensure that these things will not re-happen.”
